State of Calamity

2009-09-26, the President declared that Manila, Bulacan, Cainta and other areas of Luzon is in the "state of calamity". It is reported that in Cainta, 100% of the residents experienced calamity in the area. The volume of rain that we Filipinos experienced that day is equivalent to 1month of rainfall. Also, PAG-ASA announces that it was the worst rainfall ever in the history of the Philippines.

I live in Cainta and fortunately our house is situated in a higher location in cainta. However, the road going to our house specifically ortigas extension is until now submerged in flood and reported that it is still not passable to light vehicles and people are already on their roofs waiting for rescue operations of the government. Some even stayed there more than 24hrs already and sadly some died because of hyperthermia. Until now, they are still doing the rescue operations and continually helping those affected areas in the Philippines.

This is so alarming to everyone. We've been experiencing different calamities all over the world. I heard that in Sydney, they experienced dust storms early this month. And now, in the Philippines.

We are then called to be united in prayer and help those victims of the calamities. We should always be prepared for calamities like this so that we can rescue ourselves and others too when it strikes again.

I hope everyone is okay by now. Let's continue to pray for their safety.

My Day!

2009-09-24

I had a wonderful and sweet day celebrating my birthday with my family and friends.

My boyfriend surprised me early in the morning and made my whole day special.

Thank you for all those who greeted me. I'm so lucky to have friends like you. :)

Time to share our Blessings

Today, I really had a wonderful day. Thank you Lord for all the blessings you've given be every day of my life. :)

This afternoon, I had a chance to visit He Cares Foundation in Project 8. The September Celebrants in our company organized an outreach program for 50 kids. We had games, dance numbers from the "household girls and boys" then gave them jollibee spaghetti and chicken for merienda, and then giveaways like bag, toiletries, candies and small pillows. We are all tired but it was all worth it. This was my second outreach program for the year. I hoping for another one before the year ends. =)

After that, with some acting skills from my boyfriend. My sisters "surprised" me for an advance birthday celebration in East Ave. Infairness to them, I was a little bit surprised. Hahahaha. =) Thanks guys, you never fail me! :) By the way, had a free pizza from the restaurant. If I remember it right, it says "gaite de cour"?! Is that correct? hahaha. ;)

Oh well, I went home with a big heart and a big smile. :)
