State of Calamity

2009-09-26, the President declared that Manila, Bulacan, Cainta and other areas of Luzon is in the "state of calamity". It is reported that in Cainta, 100% of the residents experienced calamity in the area. The volume of rain that we Filipinos experienced that day is equivalent to 1month of rainfall. Also, PAG-ASA announces that it was the worst rainfall ever in the history of the Philippines.

I live in Cainta and fortunately our house is situated in a higher location in cainta. However, the road going to our house specifically ortigas extension is until now submerged in flood and reported that it is still not passable to light vehicles and people are already on their roofs waiting for rescue operations of the government. Some even stayed there more than 24hrs already and sadly some died because of hyperthermia. Until now, they are still doing the rescue operations and continually helping those affected areas in the Philippines.

This is so alarming to everyone. We've been experiencing different calamities all over the world. I heard that in Sydney, they experienced dust storms early this month. And now, in the Philippines.

We are then called to be united in prayer and help those victims of the calamities. We should always be prepared for calamities like this so that we can rescue ourselves and others too when it strikes again.

I hope everyone is okay by now. Let's continue to pray for their safety.
